The Outpost is an INCLUSIVE space EXCLUSIVELY dedicated to our teens/tweens, ages 11-17, offering scheduled creative workshops; open activities like basketball, tetherball and other games; and simply a safe space to chill together. Open daily 11am-7pm

Chill Collective
Chill Collective is a collaborative, creative space, with board games, art and cards, plus MAD surprises (have no fear, no one is losing their heads here!). Come connect with your community on collective projects! Thursday 4pm & 6pm, Friday 6pm, Saturday 6pm
Ping Pong
Back by popular demand! Friday - Sunday, 11am - 7pm
Bubble Suit Wrestling
Show off your skills in the ring! Bump it out, sumo style, in this tournament with a Wonderland Twist! (Must be 11+ and have a parent or guardian present to sign a waiver.) Friday - Sunday, 12 - 2pm
Screen-Printing
Spreading love and light through creating, Jen Davila hand-prints all of her magical art. Come learn the technique of screen-printing with this designer from western NC. Thursday 5pm
Morning Art Meditation
Kick off your weekend with Chloe’s intuitive art-meditation workshop—a creative, multimedia moment for teens and parents to settle in and sync with the Shakori vibe. Friday 11am
Mad Hatter Makerspace
Dive into a whimsical makerspace full of sparkles, recycled goodies, and endless imagination. Fancy hats? Masks? Wands? Make the impossible! Friday 12pm
Wire-Wrapping
Learn the fundamental skills of making wire-wrapped jewelry. Use gemstone cabs and copper wire to create your own pendant! Space is limited and reserved for our teens and tweens (11+ only please). Friday 2pm
Oyster Decoupage
These oyster shells are getting the royal treatment! Join Raving Rowan to create sustainably harvested, beautiful oyster shell collages. Friday 4pm
Karaoke
Friday & Saturday 5pm
Build & Flow Poi
Raving Rowan and her delightful assistant will guide you through poi creation, and then share their extensive flow art experience so you can put that poi to use! This skills workshop is for ALL levels. Friday 5pm
Get Your Glow On
This late night workshop will GLOW your mind! Play with hand-built spin art to create psychedelic, glowing canvas bags just in time for the evening music, Halloween or holiday shopping! Friday 7pm
DIY Terrarium
Create your own magical world in recycled jar terrariums! Andrea returns with a fun, interactive workshop giving you the chance to build your own ecosystem, filled with moss, stones and maybe even a little creature to watch after it! Saturday 11am
Candle-Making
Come learn the ancient art of making candles in a fun and eclectic environment. Alexis will help guide our participants through the process! Saturday 12pm
Tie Dye
Join Rebecca Benson from Blooming Bear Dyes to make the coolest tie-dye around with fiber-reactive liquid dyes. Inspired by nature and the Earth’s vast array of rainbow colors. Saturday 1pm & Sunday 12pm
Guitar Build
Johnny is back with more musical magic for you! This season he will be guiding you through the process of building your very own guitar using household items. Saturday 2pm
Hoop Knockout Basketball Tournament
Flex your shooting skills against others in this classic Knockout tourney. Last players standing win prizes and bragging rights! Divided into age groups. Saturday 4pm
Devil Stick Build & Flow
Devil sticks, flower sticks, juggling sticks. One toy, infinite names, loved by all! Make your own and then Raving Rowan and her assistant will teach the skills to get them moving. Saturday 4pm & 5pm
Tarot with Kennedy
Get a free tarot reading by Shakori’s very own mystic! This Outpost tarot reading is only for our 11-17 year olds. (Adults may find Kennedy other times in the Healing Arts area.) Sunday 11am
Improv Tea Party
Test out your improv skills in this fun setting! Let's wrap up another amazing Shakori Hills weekend and say our goodbyes with all of our WONDERFUL friends, old and new. Tea will be provided. Sunday 1pm
